Considered one of the cosiest spots in Santa Teresa, Esquina de Santa combines café, pizzeria, wine cellar and corner shop in the charming house on the corner of Monte Alegre and Áurea streets. In a cheerful, colourful room, they have one of the largest wine lists in the neighbourhood, a range of craft beers, plus snacks and sweets you can enjoy at the tables set out on the friendly open-air veranda. The place is charming and stands out from its surroundings. There are reclaimed doors and windows set against brick walls, plants everywhere and soft lighting, plus an airy wooden deck. The thin, crisp-crust pizzas use quality ingredients, some of them imported from Italy, such as Caputo flour. Standouts are the Parma ham, rocket and parmesan, and the tasty pastrami and black olive calzone.
