Portella Bar

Born in 1969 in the traditional Bixiga neighbourhood of São Paulo, Portella Bar took the shuttle in 2011 and landed in Santa Teresa, in an 1887 historic building right on Largo do Guimarães — the heart of the neighbourhood, a food and culture strip and a stop on the traditional tram line. Among straw, rope and gourds, the menu is built largely on Northeastern cooking, shaped over the years by what its regulars like. Bringing a touch of sophistication and good taste to traditional bar food, it keeps innovating without losing its roots or its bar-culture soul. Cold beer, traditional cachaças, caipirinhas, cocktails and a range of snacks, with personal service, round out the experience, in a welcoming "make yourself at home" setting.
