Novo Oeste

An Inclusive, Creative Retreat in the Heart of Santa Teresa Novo Oeste is more than a bar; it is a space that celebrates diversity, culture and creativity. Founded by three women from the film world, the bar grew out of the idea of turning a short film of the same name into a real experience, offering a warm and lively setting for everyone. Inspired by a contemporary rereading of the Wild West, Novo Oeste has cosy decor, with objects found at flea markets and details that nod to Brazilian culture, such as an image of Iemanjá. The space is run by a 100% LGBTQIAP+ team, creating an inclusive, easy-going environment that quickly became a meeting point for Rio's cool crowd. The kitchen serves dishes that combine comfort and invention. A standout is the "Brizolão", a burger with the house beef blend, gorgonzola melt, pickled pear carpaccio and bacon and rocket farofa on a brioche bun. To go with it, the "Afrodite" drink mixes sugarcane juice with lime, ginger foam and vodka, for a one-of-a-kind experience. Novo Oeste goes beyond food, with a varied cultural programme that turns the space into a lively dance floor.
